In 1952, escaped convict, Donald Synder, took a young girl hostage as the police were closing in on him. In the midst of a standoff, he murdered that girl. He was later found guilty and sentenced to death. What happens next is bizarre. Synder hatches a plan to get his death sentence, by electric chair, commuted to life in prison. How you ask? By eating his way out of it!! That’s right, Synder balloned up to well over 300lbs during his stay in prison. A far cry from the 150lbs he went in at!! Did this violent criminal’s plan work?
